Setup
The first item in this dialog is the nutrient Brand as specified in Options->Nutrient
There four areas in the dialogue are:
Schedule analysis (ml/l)
Schedule analysis (ml/l) contains the minimum and maximum nutrient concentrations specified in Channels dialogue.
Recipes
An objective in selecting the component dilutions is to achieve “reasonable” nutrient pump run times. If the nutrient dilution is set too low, any variation in pumping rates due to wear or calibration error could result in significant errors in the final nutrient mix. As a rule of thumb, pump times lower than 15 seconds should be avoided for nutrient pumps having a capacity of approximately 25 ml/min.
Pump run times
Pump run times (sec) are calculated from the nutrient dilutions specified in Stock tank formula for 1 liter (ml) and calibrated pump rates specified in Tools->Calibrate.
Channel refills
Channel Refills is used to specify how many Mixing Tank refills are to be added to the channel when a dry float is sensed. A Wait time before refilling can be specified if, for some reason, it is desirable to increase the dryness of the growing media. This is most often used to ensure complete drainage of media to help refresh oxygen around the roots.
Finally, a note about the Lock/Unlock button. The purpose of this button is to freeze the current nutrient setup to avoid inadvertent changes. If a stock tank dilution change is required, it will be necessary to unlock first to select the new dilution rate. The schedule is automatically locked when exiting the dialogue.
