Environment

Starting with Temperature, the first check box is clicked if a sensor is attached. If not, there are no other choices activated. If a sensor is attached, the temperature Set Point and Hysteresis (sensitivity range) can be set. Further, if the temperature is being controlled by an air-conditioner, check the Select if air conditioner is to be used box . If an air conditioner is attached, the Startup delay between cycles is activated. This helps prevent compressor freeze-ups when short cycles are caused by power outages or other interruptions. The last item to specify whether the Phidget temperature sensor is the Precision sensor (#1124) or the combined precision temperature and humidity sensor (#1125). The default is precision temperature sensor because the (#1114) lower precision sensor is no longer available.

If a humidity sensor is attached, check the Humidty sensor box. This enables selection of the Set Point and Hysteresis. Further, if the humidity is being controlled by a dehumidifier, check the Select if dehumidifier is to be used box. If a dehumidifier is attached, the Startup delay between cycles is activated. This helps prevent compressor freeze-ups when short cycles are caused by power outages or other interruptions.

Light is the last item on this tab. If a light sensor is attached, click the Light Sensor box. The light level can be used to trigger an email in the event a set threshold is not reached when an associated timer is ON. To use this feature, emails, discussed next, must be setup and tested. To turn on the warning feature, click Warn if below threshold box. Select the timer associated with this feature and set the light level below which a warning will be triggered. The light level chosen should not be too sensitive to activities in the grow room such as shadows cast by normal activities. When the system is operational, the associated analog sensor level in the main screen System tab can be used to assist in selecting an appropriate value.
