pH/EC
This is where the global pH and EC management information is provided. There are a lot of items on this tab.
- Available pH pump(s)
- pH reagents
- Reagent dilutions
- Reagent tank volumes
- pH Eelectrodes
- EC Electrodes
- Electrode failure detection
- View port assignments
Available pH pump(s)
Select the pH reagent solenoids/pumps to be made available. Before starting up HHS, it will be necessary to calibrate the pumps in the Tools->Calibrate dialog.
pH reagents
Select the pH reagent(s) used. This is only for reporting purposes. HHS does not use the reagent type for any computational purposes.
Reagent dilutions
Select the dilution rate for the raw reagent. It is best to target for a 1-2% diluted reagent solution. This usually means a dilution of 20.
Reagent tank volumes
Enter the volume of the reagent tanks. HHS uses this value to issue a warning when less than 10% is left. It also uses this as an edit when entering tank refills
pH Electrodes and EC Electrodes
Use these check boxes to indicate what channels have pH electrodes and EC electrodes attached. HHS has five analog ports available for electrodes. As the electrodes are selected, HHS assigns them to an analog port. Use the View analog input assignments to see the ports selected by HHS.
Electrode failure detection
Detecting electrode malfunction is a complex matter. Settings here provide some measure of protection. Max instantaneous change is the maximum percentage change allowed from the current average value. If this change persists for Change persistence seconds, an error will be reported and any automatic dosing associated with the electrode will be suspended until the situation is corrected. The error condition can be cancelled in the Tools->Overrides dialog.
