Irrigation is an extensive subject matter area. It encompasses the science of evapotranspiration (evaporation and transpiration), hydraulics and plumbing. A full coverage of these areas is not feasible in RuralHomeSoft™ software documentation. What will be addressed here is the capability RHS has to calculate and schedule the daily irrigation needs of a garden based on the garden’s physical parameters, environmental setting and daily weather conditions. Some considerations on how irrigation is delivered gardens will be provided in “Building a RHS System”. It is assumed for the purpose of this manual that the gardens to be irrigated have been determined and the job at hand is to set up the software to do the job. Other capabilities of the software to control devices and to measure water flows will be detailed.
