Peterphrastus

The rural setting of Goulbourn Township in Ontario, is the site of extensive limestone quarry operations. These quarries are usually excavated into the aquifers supplying domestic wells. This requires extensive water taking to carry on the mining operations. Since there are five such quarries near our location, it was essential to gain an understanding of what the current and future impact on well water quality and quantity might be. To study this question, a groundwater model was developed using the GMS and Surfer software poducts. The technical report for the work to date is located here.
